Mohd Shuhada Othman, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh, arrived in Cox’s Bazar this morning for an official visit aimed at strengthening humanitarian cooperation and assessing ongoing relief efforts for Rohingya refugees.

The High Commissioner, accompanied by Mr. Mohd Aszuan Abd Samat, First Secretary of the Malaysian High Commission, was warmly received upon arrival. The visit is being facilitated by Mr. Armanul Karim Herady, who is coordinating engagements with key stakeholders, including the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC), the Inter-Sector Coordination Group (ISCG), and UNHCR officials.

Following his arrival, His Excellency proceeded to the Naf-Myanmar viewpoint and Shah Porir Dip, gaining firsthand insight into the geographical and humanitarian context of the region. Later in the day, he will meet with humanitarian partners to discuss Malaysia’s role in assisting Rohingya refugees and supporting Bangladesh’s efforts to manage the crisis.

This visit underscores Malaysia’s strong diplomatic ties with Bangladesh and its commitment to humanitarian assistance, regional stability, and exploring long-term solutions for displaced communities.
